A letter to my children on a Sunday morning

A letter to my children on a Sunday morning

Dearest children,

You are my little rays of sunshine, you mean everything to me and you know full well that I will do anything for you.

However, today will be a little different. Today the high standard of parenting that you have become accustomed to over the years will be lower than normal.

Today mummy is feeling very tired after going out to play with all her friends last night.

It would also seem that Daddy had too much fun at his Christmas party yesterday and he is feeling very tired too, even though Daddy said that he wasn’t going have too much fun and get too sleepy.

So today because Mummy and Daddy need to rest we need to change our plans. I know you were expecting a super fun Sunday but here’s what we won’t be doing today……

We can’t go in Mummy’s car today. Daddy especially as if he gets any more naughty points then he might not be allowed to go in Mummy or Daddy’s car ever again (or for a while).

We won’t be visiting any sort of soft-play centre as it’s far too loud for Mummy today.

We not going out for brunch today but Mummy would like it very much if you helped Daddy make her a cup of tea and some toast.

The Sunday big shop will be done online. As much as Mummy loves it when you all like to pick and choose things to put in the trolley she’s going to find it difficult to keep up today.

We’re not going to see anyone or invite anyone to come and see us.

Things we will do today

If you are reading this and Mummy is still sleepy in bed then just carry on watching CBBC and wait till Daddy gets up to make breakfast.
If you are really hungry then wake Daddy up first.

We are going to start the day with a nice bit of quite time. Throughout the day there will also be regular intervals of spontaneous quite time.

Lunch will be served eventually but please do not expect the usual smorgasbord. The will no spiralized vegetables or character themed plates.

Dinner will be takeaway.

We are going to watch a nice afternoon movie today and have a nice sleep.

For today, and today only ; iPad usage is unlimited, headphones must be worn at all times.

Normal parenting will resume at 6am on Monday morning after we all have a nice early night.

A very yummy mummy
